Simple Ways To Make Your Child Day Better

As they grow our children’s fears and worries start to grow too. They might manifest through crying or simple belly aches but is never nice for them or for you. So why not try and make their day a bit better including them in your activities and giving them all the attention they require?

Simple Ways To Make Your Child Day Better

So slow down…and remind yourself what it is important…live a #slowlived life and have fun!

Let them help you with shopping and decide what they will have for dinner. Make a list together, go shopping and then let them help you cook it. Cutting vegetables(if they are old enough), making a salad dressing and even setting the table can give them a sense of being useful to you and that makes them happy! Do you remember how well you felt when your mum was letting helping her make those cookies? They will thrilled to spend time with you too!

Take them for a walk and stop every single time they want to. I know that probably your journey will be twice as long but once in a while you should make time for that. Stop and watch the trail of ants, admire the colourfulness of nature and answer all their questions. Do you remember how nature and the surroundings surprised you when you were a child?

My children love when I let them push the buttons – elevators, card machines, washing machines etc. – I don’t know but it simply gives them a sense of pleasure and control and why not let them? If they do it under your supervision they will be safe.

Spend the day playing – board games, plasticine, play doh, origami, crafting, bubbles, puddles, indoor or outdoor again they will be thrilled to spend the whole day playing with you! Forget about the mess, forget about tidying up as when they will grow they will remember you playing with them not how clean the house was.

Simple Ways To Make Your Child Day Better

Naping can be another activity you could do together. Sometimes when kids are feeling low the last thing they need is to be sent to their room and be by themselves. Even if it’s only for sleeping. So take the afternoon off and nap with them. You will give them a sense of security

Read to them. One, two or how many books they satisfy them. They like the sound of your voice this is why they like when you read them stories. I know that sometimes they might just not want to go to sleep but they will mostly just like to spend just some more time with you. Soon the day when they will ban you out of their room will come and believe me you will miss the days when they were asking for “one more story”.

Talk to them. Be there for them no matter what. Let them tell you about their worries and their upsets. And when they are happy. It is important to let them know that you are there for them no matter what. Teach them that feelings are ok and they should always talk to you about them.

Mother and daughter

I am sure there a lot more things you could do to transform your child day from a sad one to a happy one and they definitely include your presence. So please do share with us what you do with your children.

5 Things You Should Never DO On Social Media

Things you should never DO on social media

My journey on social media started a year after I started blogging – quite late one might say, but now there are still almost 7 years since my first ever tweet.

I mean I was on Facebook but not for promoting my blog posts. I discovered Twitter when I was invited at my first “blogger outreach/social media event” and I couldn’t get enough of it. For the first couple of tears I was quite obsessed with it and was beginning and ending my day on it.

But soon other social media channels appeared – Pinterest and Instagram – so my focus shifted. I liked these two more as they made me show my creative side as well.

So over time I learned quite a bit about how one should do and not do on social media. This time I want to talk to you about the DO NOT’s on social media.

  • NEVER BUY FOLLOWERS, LIKES AND +1S – I know we are all tempted…more followers, more reach etc. In some cases this might be true but if you’re cheating and if you are buying your followers than it will simply NOT WORK because the likes, followers are NOT REAL. It is simply unethical and dishonest!
  • NEVER ASK FOR FOLLOWERS or RE-SHARES – You don’t have to beg to receive. If you have good stuff to share than you will get re-shares and more followers. Asking for followers and re-shares makes you look WEAK.
  • NEVER OVERLY PROMOTE YOUR PRODUCT/SERVICE – You simply can’t fill your social media channels with promotion only. Your home feed will become boring and your followers will simply…UNFOLLOW you. Some people think that social media’s primary purpose is promotion but they couldn’t be further from the truth. According to Guy Kawasaki (Chief evangelist of Canva), the right ratio for promotion to adding value is roughly 1 to 20. So for example you can post once about your latest blog post/product and the next 20 times needs to be something that is valuable, something that adds information or assistance or analysis or entertainment. One time you promote and 20 times you add value
  • NEVER CALL YOURSELF AN EXPERT OR A GURU – Bragging about yourself is like asking for followers/shares. If you are not an expert, calling yourself an expert is not going to make you one. For most part of the online world you will certainly sound ridiculous.
  • NEVER SHOUT ABOUT UNFOLLOWING PEOPLE – Is just silly! Social media is for grown up stuff (well mostly) and if you want to act like one don’t embarrass yourself. Even when people tag you saying that they unfollowed you, just move on. Maybe it’s for the best that they unfollowed you. It’s better to be unfollowed than be trolled or have disagreements on social media.

These are the things I’ve learned so far but I am sure that there are lots of other things that you will learn by yourself with time. So, do let me know if you have any piece of advice you would like to share.

How to be a successful parent blogger

How to be a successful parent blogger

If you are like me and you want to share your parenting experience and your advice further than the your immediate group of family friends than you might want to start a blog. Who knows…if it happens to have a nice writing style your blog could actually be successful!

How to be a successful parent blogger

I started blogging around 5 years ago(on a different web address of course) and since then I developed quite a bit of experience and I thought it will be good to share my advice with my readers too! Blogging world is always in need of new voices! I love reading other blogs and responding to comments about what I’ve written! Blogging is a fun and easy way to be creative, a modern place for a diary and a way to make new friends I might say.

Here is what I think you might want to think of and consider to try if you decide you want to start blogging:

  1. Find your niche – What is it that you like doing? What is that unique thing you would like to share with the world? There are millions of general parenting blogs, crafting and cookery blogs so if you want your blog to be known all over the world you will have to be different! It is good to have a focus when you write. For example I love writing about my family travels and cookery so this is what you will mostly find on my blog. But you might be passionate about crocheting or even cycling so find your own style and specialise in that.
  2. Don’t invest before trying it out – Before starting investing in hosting, design and a web address for a blog why don’t you start blogging for free? Visit blogger sildenafil 100mg price.com and wordpress.com and these sites will allow you to build your own free blog and guide you through each step. When you are sure that blogging is for you than you can start to invest as well. So you can get yourself a web address that will describe you and what you want to write well.
  3. Decide what you want to share on your blog – Because you are a parent there are other things you might want to consider when you start a blog. You need to be careful about what information you put in the public domain as anyone can see it so you might want to keep your address and very personal things private. Besides that there are several other questions you might want to ask yourself before starting to write about your family: Are you going to blog under your real name, under a pseudonym or anonymously?  Are you going to put pictures with family on the blog? And if so…do you want to show pictures with their faces? Some parent bloggers chose to keep their children faces away…Are you going to use your kids full names on the blog or just pseudonyms? You need to make sure you are comfortable with the things you are sharing.
  4. Network with other bloggers – It takes time to build up a blog and readership so arm yourself with patience. Your blog posts will get lots of hits straightaway, or hundreds of comments unless you get yourself known out there. So create yourself some social media accounts for your blog especially if you want to blog anonymously and start interacting with other parent bloggers but not only. Twitter is great for easy interaction and promotion but don’t sit back and wait for people to just interact with you. Join in with conversations and get to know other bloggers blogs. Read and comment on other blogs as that will encourage their owners and their readers to come and visit your blog too. Most of the time parent bloggers are supportive with each other and for sure you will find some bloggers that you will just sync with and you will create your own online community.
  5. Relax  – Don’t feel under pressure to write every day. Write when you feel like writing and when you have something to say. A short post every couple of days or once a week its completely fine. Take it at your own speed and keep it fun as that is the way you will continue to enjoy what you are doing.
